Description:
I am a jazz player primarily but have a firm background in classical bass. I function well in a bass section, combo, chamber group, etc. I enjoy working with vocalists. I also compose, arrange and produce. Although I do play electric bass and enjoy opportunities to play that instrument, I have stuck mainly to double bass this far in my career as a working musician.
Resume / Bio:
Jacob Jezioro began studying music in his early teens with his father, an established producer and musician who encouraged him to take up the double bass. He attended Eastern Music Festival, studying classically with Leonid Finkelshteyn. He also studied with principal bassist Joel Reist (NSO) and Roger Spencer (NJW). At Indiana University, Jacob majored in jazz studies and played in orchestras while studying with Jeremy Allen and Kurt Muroki.
In 2019, Jacob completed his masters degree from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where he received instruction from Danilo Perez and renowned artists-in-residence including Terri Lyne Carrington, Dave Liebman, Ben Street and John Patitucci. Jacob’s culminating experience presentation compared philosophical anarchism, the Dada movement and Jazz.
After completing his masters degree, Jezioro worked for Burton Avenue Music, an independent record label based in Nashville, TN. Jacob can be heard on numerous recordings for that label as a member of Pat Coil trio, along with drummer Danny Gottlieb and others including Jaimee Paul and Joel Frahm.
With the help of his father, Jacob began producing and releasing recordings in 2022 under his own label (Green Box Music). He is a member of the Nashville Composer Collective and leads his own bands. Jezioro is an educator and has worked in recording orchestras in Nashville. He can be heard regularly at Rudy’s Jazz Room.
