I am a bassist commited to stylistic autheticity and professionalism. It is essential that I provide my fellow bandmates a comfortable and confident foundation from which they can deliver the best performance possible. Ultimately, I enjoy hanging with players on and off-stage; open to new experiences and musical adventures.
Resume / Bio:
David Abdo is an active bassist, writer, and educator residing in Nashville, Tennessee.
He has performed with Ray Charles, Don Rickles, Bob Newhart, Matt Wilson, Bill Bell, Louis Bellson, The Marvellettes, The Drifters, Peaches & Herb, and the Cairo Music Ensemble. David has planted his musical flag around the world, highlighted by events like the Detroit Jazz Festival, Indy 500, Minnesota Vikings football games, the Cairo Opera House, and rallies for former president Barack Obama.
Off the stage, David is a contributor for Premier Guitar magazine. He writes reviews on basses, amplifiers, and effects.
A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, David earned a Master's degree in Music Education. After teaching middle school for many years, David enjoys sharing the joys of music with a variety of audiences and artists.
